Get to Know Me

Growing up a competitive swimmer I learned young about consistency in training. Moving on to Naval College regular sport was an important part of campus life. As well as captaining the swim team I also represented the college on the rowing, field hockey and sailing teams.

After a break to start a family and gain commercial pilot qualifications I started training with a cycling club with an interest in sprints and time trial events.

After moving to Andalucia and enjoying the lifestyle I bought my first proper mountain bike and spent several years enjoying the cross country and downhill trails in the south of Spain. As the children left home decided to pursue my Ironman dream with my first triathlon at Marbella Ironman 70.3 - an ocean swim, 1500m climb on the bike and a fortunately flat run.

Future races have had more structured training plans understanding load vs recovery. Also the effect that endurance event preparation can have on family and professional life.
